Korean is a South-East Asian language that is honorific in nature. It is primarily spoken by the two enemies; South Korea & North Korea, parts of China and areas between North Korea and China, The language is relatively a new language that was invented by the Great Kind Sejong for the benefit of his people. Though it took quite some time to be implemented due to opposition by the courtiers for politically linked personal gains, the language finally did get its due credit owing to persistence from the various kings.

The speaking skills of any language is very practical in nature. This means that in order to improve or master this skill, you have to practise it at all costs. Without practising This skill, you cannot expect to master it Let alone get over the fear of it. Moving on to the language Korean. It is a beautiful Asian language that has recently gained severe popularity due to K dramas and K pop. Whether you like it or not, I’m sure you’ve at least heard a single K pop song or seen A very popular scene from one of the K dramas.
With that said, how does this all relate to you getting over your fear of Korean? If that’s the question you’ve been wondering, then let me help you out with it. You see, mastering or getting over the fear of speaking any language, especially a language like Korean, is exceptionally fun. But fun, I mean, you get to watch a lot of the entertainment industry has to offer. In order to get over your fear of speaking, I always suggest speaking in the language. But before we get that, we also need to understand the right pronunciation of words, the right grammar rules to be utilised, the sentence formation and of course the expansion of your vocabulary.
So what does the Korean entertainment industry have got to do with any of this? The answer is simple, why not learn how to speak by the people themselves? Now of course, you are definitely not expected to take a trip to Korea. Unless you want to. But for those of us who would rather enjoy the comfort of our household, I suggest grabbing your popcorn bucket and a drink and put on an interesting K drama. I’m obviously not implying that all you do is enjoy the K drama, instead, pay attention to the way they communicate with one another. When you are going to a gym, unloading your groceries or maybe walking to your classes, you can listen to some K pop as well.
Once you have gotten a good grasp of the communication skills and all the different aspects involved in communicating in Korean, you can give it a go yourself. You don’t have to communicate with someone else in Korean, you can just try talking to yourself. Talk to yourself till you gain sufficient confidence to talk to someone else. Once you’re confident enough, strike up a conversation with anyone who can speak Korean.
Finally,
Some linguists have suggested that Korean belongs in the Altaic linguistic group and hence is linked to languages such as Turkish and Finnish, however, this has largely been disagreed to by many other scholars. Korean on the other hand is more frequently referred to as linguistic isolate, which indicates that there is no substantial connection with any other current language in the world.
