Want to know the Top Foreign Language taught in Indian Schools?
India has one of the largest pools of human resources – the reason being its huge young population that forms a reservoir of generating present and future manpower. In a world that has become a big marketplace the only hindrance that people face is the inability to communicate with the natives of nations that do not have English as their national language.
India has also been one of the nations that have kept most nations in some sort of engagement and cooperation. So, in order to continue to trade, engage and cooperate with various countries of the world, it gets easier if there is a pool of people who can converse in different languages of the world.
As part of the same effort, various foreign languages are taught as part of the Indian school curriculum. Some of the popular languages offered in Indian schools are
French
One of the most popular languages learnt over the years in Indian schools has been the language of France. One of the valid reasons that French has been part of Indian school curriculum is the fact that there are still those places in India like Yanam, Male and Pondicherry etc. which were part of French colonialism and people there speak French. Besides, French being the official language of UN and India’s strong military and economic cooperation with the European nation is a major reason that French is and will continue to be taught in Indian schools
Spanish
One language that has been widespread and understood by people in large parts of the world is Spanish. So, if we would like our children to be able to converse and strike deals in many Central American countries and Europe, it is a good option to make the lessons available in the school curriculum. That is the reason we have Spanish being taught in many of the Indian schools including the Kendriya Vidyalayas. Did you know that Spanish is the official language in 21 countries across the world?
German
German is yet another popular language being offered in many Indian schools. In Europe, German is one of the largest spoken native languages of any country. Besides, for the people who can speak English, German is not as difficult to learn. Germany and some other countries of Europe that have German as their official language are popular destinations for work and learning for Indian students so the knowledge of their language is a big advantage for such candidates. Besides, Europe is a treasure trove of travel and tourism and if you are adept at one of the languages spoken widely in the continent you do have a great chance of joining the European travel industry.
Chinese
The Chinese language has emerged as one of the foreign languages taught in Indian schools and it does have a valid reason with China being a huge economy and our neighboring country. It is also said to earn a better-salaried job to people who can actually speak the language.
Japanese
Given a choice, I would encourage people to learn the language of the Japanese archipelago. I would have my own reason for learning Japanese but this land of strong independence being and one of the strong economic powers and the land of famous MNCs has been attracting attention from across the world. So, all the major central and international boards in the schools offer Japanese as a foreign language in India. One of the benefits of learning Japanese while in school is that if the students wish to go for higher studies to Japan or they wish to take up employment there. Also, India and Japan are friendly nations and people exchange takes place on diplomatic, military, and financial levels. So, learning Japanese from Indian students can be helpful in future times.
Meanwhile, there are other languages like Russian, Korean Arabic that are also taught in Indian schools. The increasing industry of translation, written word is one of the reasons that more and more people in India intend to learn a second or third foreign language.
A few months back, I had enrolled for live video training sessions with language experts with a reputed and trustworthy source of education or language-learning.
