I would have my own reason for learning Japanese but this land of strong independence being and one of the strong economic powers and the land of famous MNCs has been attracting attention from across the world. So, all the major central and international boards in the schools offer Japanese as a foreign language in India. One of the benefits of learning Japanese while in school is that if the students wish to go for higher studies to Japan or they wish to take up employment there. Also, India and Japan are friendly nations and people exchange takes place on diplomatic, military, and financial levels. So, learning Japanese from Indian students can be helpful in future times.
Meanwhile, there are other languages like Russian, Korean Arabic that are also taught in Indian schools. The increasing industry of translation, written word is one of the reasons that more and more people in India intend to learn a second or third foreign language.
