Can I really learn Telugu in the course of a summer?
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are southern Indian states where Telugu is the primary language spoken. According to Google, it is the fourth most widely spoken language in India. It is one of India’s 22 official languages and 14 Besides Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Yanam Region of the Union Territory of Pondicherry also recognises it as an official language.
Telugu is the second most widely spoken Indian language after Hindi. Burma, South Africa, and the United States are among the countries where Telugu is widely spoken. As a result of its mellowness, some of its lovers refer to it as the “Italian of the East.”
This language is a member of the Dravidian language family and is spoken in South Central. According to historical sources, the Telugu script is said to have evolved from the Pahlavi script and is extremely similar to Kannada. Telugu has a rich Indo-Aryan vocabulary and is heavily influenced by Sanskrit.
Telugu is significantly similar to its northern neighbours, Gondi, Konda, Kui, Kuvi, Pengo, and Manda, then it is to its southern counterparts, Tamil and Kannada. There is an indication that these languages readily borrowed from Telugu even in ancient times, but borrowed between Telugu and Tamil and Kannada has mostly occurred during the historic period, i.e., after the 5th century B.C.
From the perspective of learning this beautiful language, it requires a lot of dedication and self-belief to begin. As per native speakers, Telugu is the most beautiful and easy language among its southern counterparts. But at the same time without any proper strategy, it will be more difficult than any other language.
