Introduction:
France or langue Francaise is a Romance language of the Indo-European family. It descended from the Vulgar Latin of the Roman Empire, as did all Romance languages. French evolved from Gallo-Romance, the Latin spoke in Gaul. Its closest relatives see the languages are spoken in northern France and southern Belgium, which French largely supplanted. French is an official language in 29 countries across multiple continents, most of which are members of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, a community of 84 countries that share the official use or teaching of French. French is also one of the six languages used in the United Nations. It is spoken as a first language in France, Canada, Ontario, and New Brunswick as well as Belgium. French is also the second most taught language in the EU. It is also the 18th most natively spoken language in the world, the 6th most spoken language by the total number of speakers, and the second or third most studied language in the world.
