How to improve my listening skill in Kannada?
Kannada is among more than 20 languages of the Dravidian group. It is one of the oldest Dravidian languages. Kannada is one of the oldest languages in the world. That is why it has so many interesting tales associated with it. Presently, it is the state language of Karnataka and also the heart language of Kannadigas. Well known as Kanarese or Canarese, this Dravidian language is predominantly spoken by Kannada people in Karnataka.
Kannada is also one of the oldest languages in the country. The Government of India granted Kannada the classical-language status in 2008. Wherever you decide to live long-term, it’s always good to learn the local language. Learning at least a few rudimentary basics can take you a long way and help you connect with the local culture. It is greatly influenced by Sanskrit in terms of vocabulary, grammar and literary style, and also has a lot in common with other Dravidian languages like Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. No matter the ways you choose to learn a new language, make a promise to yourself from the beginning that, when you are studying, you are only speaking/writing in the target language.
