Kerala Floods: Death Toll Rises To 192

Even as the water level is receding in many parts, death toll in Kerala since August 9 has reached 192. PM Modi, after chairing a review meeting and conducting an aerial survey, announced an additional relief of Rs 500 crore when the state asked for an immediate 2000 crore.

The losses amount to more than 19,000 crores as per the early estimates. The whole state has come to a standstill with this calamity. Rescue missions are still going on and there are people stuck on rooftops and houses.
