Marathi is the language primarily spoken by native people of Maharashtra. and its also spoken in Israel and Mauritius It is Considered that the language is evolved from Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit languages. Marathi ranks 4th in India according to the number of speaker as their primary language. History:
Marathi writing is appeared during 11th century in the form of “mudra” on stone or Copper plate called as ”Tamalpatra”
Marathi has undergone series of changes and its having vital impact of social, cultural and political environment of the period. here are some ironic stages of marathi langugae
- “Adyakalin (आद्य कालीन)‟ – Earliest from 12th century
- “Yadavakalin (यादव कालीन)” – 13th century

- “Peshvekalin (पेश्वेकालीन)”
