Introduction:
As we all know that Sanskrit is not that easy to learn. If there are many books and other resources available for you to learn Sanskrit you still have to do a lot of work in order to learn the language. Nowadays we have learning turning offline. We have online as well as offline modes of learning. Previously more focus was on offline mode, but amidst the covid-19 pandemic, everything has turned to be online. So are the Sanskrit learning classes. You still have the option to go either online or offline. But since there is an option you should know the better one. You should choose which one to choose and why?
First, let’s have a look at why the online mode is better than the offline.
Pro's and Con's of Online Mode
-
Pros of online mode:
- Flexible timings: you get to decide the day and time. You can do your other work; there is no hindrance to your office hours or your house work. You select your free time to earn Sanskrit and make such good use of that time.
- Comfort zone: you are at the comfort zone of your home. You can concentrate better with a better sitting position, having a sip of tea or drink to boost your brain.
- Recordings: we tend to forget what we learn. We all know that Sanskrit is tough language. With choosing to go online, we have the benefit of receiving recordings of the lectures. You can listen to the lectures as many times as you want. Even if you forget something, you can revisit the lecture and get your answer immediately instead of struggling.
- Safe: the most important concern today is being safe from the coronavirus. The online classes save you from this. You do not visit the classes, do not travel, do not meet in crowds, and be safe and healthy at your home. This is so peaceful.
- Choose what you want: the curriculum provided for online training is flexible. You can change it the way you want. According to your requirements, the lesson plans are set for you.
- Choose your pace: you do not have to rush. You can be at your own speed.
Cons of online mode:
- Difficulty in understanding: Sanskrit is already difficult to understand, and doing it in online mode can add to it.
- They have words that need to have proper listening skills. Over the internet, this could e a problem. You may not be able to interpret a word as it is.

Pro's and Con's of Offline Mode
Pros:
- High level of understanding: since you are in a room where everybody’s eyes are glued to the teacher, it helps you understand things better. You can ask queries.
- Better concentration.
- Clarity.
- Improves Sanskrit listening skills.
- A study environment.
Cons:
I don’t think traveling somewhere for learning something can be counted as a negative point. It would only mean a lack of effort. If we keep aside the coronavirus, I think learning offline is the best. But we can’t keep the coronavirus aside since it’s everywhere, so you better choose an online mode and be safe.
