Thane police arrested five people who were involved in the sale and packaging of spurious butter in Amul boxes. The accused were mixing the locally churned butter with  Vanaspathi oil from Srilanka.

At the time of the raid, police seized 1,000 kilograms of butter along with packaging used by Amul Butter. An investigation has been launched to ascertain how the gang got their hands on the packaging used by Amul cooperation.
