
TEF is the abbreviation of Test d’Evaluation de Francais was started by the Paris Île -de-France CCI in 1998. The French Ministry of National Education was officially recognized in 2012. This exam seeks to test the French proficiency in people looking to travel or immigrate to France as a French Citizen in France or Canada. This is one of the recognized proficiency exams in Canada and France.

Types of TEF Exam

- TEFAQ – To immigrate to Quebec province in Canada.
The TEF and TEFaQ results are valid for two years from the date of the exam.

The different L’Alliance Française network branches in India conduct the TEF exam for Canada/Quebec. Some TEF prominent exam centers are New Delhi, Chennai, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Kolkata, etc. TEF Exam centers in India are not permanent, and every AF institute doesn’t conduct all exams.

Fees structure
The exam fees will depend on the test you sign up for in the country. In India, Fees vary between ₹ 15,000 to 25,000, depending on the number of exams. They conduct most of these exams many times a year.
How Long does it take to clear TEF?
As per the curriculum, you need CLB 7 of TEF exams. CLB 7 is more equivalent to DELF B2. Generally, it takes 600-800 hours of classroom studies to learn the entire course and depends on the language learning methodology, which takes at least 2 years.
