Korean is an excellent choice if you are looking to expand your language, there is so much Korean music, Tv, and film around the world. Learning Korean doesn’t have to belong and boring. Learning a language takes time, Korean is a great choice. Today many youngsters are attracted to acquiring Korean, and it is one of the top 10 foreign languages. The importance of learning a foreign language can not be overemphasized nor ignored.
If we talk about what are the ways to learn Korean at the age of 18 “it depends”. It depends on the person’s ability to learn the Korean language. There are actually 3 factors on which the Korean language depends: the attitude of the learner, the amount of time the learner actually spends on the Korean language, and the degree of attentiveness the learner gives to the Korean language. Not only it depends on the above three factors, but it also depends on the motivation and enthusiasm towards the Korean language.
The learning is basically divided into 5 levels of proficiency and each level takes a different amount of time to master, So, the FSI 5 levels of proficiency are namely,
- Elementary proficiency: it deals with only the minimum courtesy requirement. It is actually beyond saying hello and asking for things like a bathroom etc.
- Limited working proficiency: it is limited working to only satisfy routine social demands and limited work requirements.
- Minimum professional proficiency: it extends to the person’s ability to use a language fluently and accurately.
- Bilingual proficiency: this level makes a person fully proficient equivalent to a native speaker of the language.
If a person spends 10 hr a day learning the Korean language, he would be able to learn elementary proficiency in just 48 days and cross each level of proficiency in 72 days successively. Generally, a person does not have 10 hours of time a day to spend on learning a new language. So, it takes more than 48 days to master elementary proficiency. Again, it depends on the three factors like the attitude of the learner, amount of the time, and attentiveness while learning.
