Learning Korean through the top universities is a great start in your learning process

The Korean language has been getting a lot of popularity in India recently because of K-POP, dramas, and improving relations between Korea and India. There are also many resources to learn Korean and some of which are Facebook pages, YouTube channels, or Instagram. The other way is to learn Korean through language institutes and universities in India, some are listed below

1.Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi)

It’s the oldest institution for the Korean language department in India. This Centre offers BA, MA, M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses in the Korean language. There are full-time programs to devote a minimum of 2-3 years in the Korean language and the admission is done by all Indian entrance tests. The eligibility is 10+2 or equivalent, this is the best route to make a career in the field of the Korean language.

2. Delhi University (Delhi)

Delhi University offers two types of Korean language classes such as part-time certificate and diploma programs through full-time PG Diploma programs through the Department of East Asian Studies. The department of East Asian Studies offers a full-time PG intensive diploma and a full-time PG intensive advanced Diploma (KF1 and KF2).

3. Central University of Jharkhand (Ranchi)

The Central University of Jharkhand is one of the new Korean language departments that have been opened at many universities in recent years. CUJ provides full-time BA and MA programs in the Korean language. The admission is done by theCUB entrance tests. Here the program is not well established and it is suggested only if you are not able to secure admission at the above-mentioned University.

4. Manipur University (Imphal)

Manipur University provides Short term diploma programs in the Korean language. The admissions are done by an entrance test and the eligibility criteria are 10+2 or equivalent. This is again a new department, and thus the programs are not well established and it is suggested only if you are not able to secure admission at the above-mentioned University (JNU or Delhi) 

5. Magadh University (Bodhgaya)

Magadh University provides short-term diploma programs in the Korean language for the last few years. It is recommended only if it’s close to your home and no other options are available. The eligibility criteria for entering this university is 10+2 or equivalent. Programs available are 1-year Diploma courses 

If you are someone who can spend 2-3 years of your life learning Korean full-time, then take the entrance test of JNU, Delhi University, or Manipur University. These places have well-established courses and they have collaborations with the Korean government and universities. So the exposure will be huge, especially at JNU or DU.

So if you want to learn the Korean language at a fast pace, then pass the TOPIK test soon this is not the best option for you. You can also learn the courses through YouTube as well.
