The Common European Language Framework (CEFR) is an international standard for the description of linguistic skills. It describes six-point language skills from A1 to C2 for beginners and language masters.
A guideline that is used to describe the achievements of students of foreign languages all over Europe and, more and more so, for Learning, Teaching, Assessment abbreviated as a “CEFR” or CEF or CEFRL. The CEFR also seeks to facilitate the assessment of the language qualifications of candidates for admission to education or employment for educational institutions and employers.
The Council of Europe established it between 1989 and 1996 as part of the Language Learning project for European Citizenship. Its main objective is to develop a learning, education and evaluation method that applies to all European languages. A Council Resolution of the European Union recommended that the CEFR be used to establish language validation systems in November 2001. CEFR tests based on six language measurement levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) have become widely accepted as the European standard for assessing the language ability of the individual.

DEPLE is the Diploma elementar de português língua estrangeira that tests the B1-C2 level of Portuguese.
The above-mentioned tests are all the proficiency tests for Portuguese for a student to test their language level. I personally recommend the CEFRL proficiency test of Portuguese as that is by far a test recognised on a most larger scale by a much larger audience internationally. If you’re looking to seek certification for professional purposes, then CEFRL is the most appropriate and beneficial choice for you.
