The TORFL contains 6 different level test
Elementary Level (TEL / A1)
If you complete this Test at Elementary Level then you will get a standard of initial competence in Russian that demonstrates you satisfy their elementary communicative needs in a limited number of day to day situations. After successful completion of this level, you will receive the certificate of Elementary Level which proves the competencies of candidates for the language learning process and reaching the Basic Level of Russian language proficiency.
Basic Level (TBL / A2)
If you complete this Test at Basic Level then you will get a standard competence in Russian that demonstrates you to satisfy their basic communicative needs in a limited number of day to day situations and cultural spheres. This will be the minimum level that is required to obtain Russian citizenship. But this level is not sufficient for studying in the Russian educational institutions for foreigners.
The First Certification Level (TORFL-I / B1)
If you complete this First Level then you will get a standard Certificate which denotes an intermediate level of language competence demonstrating you to satisfy the main communicative needs in today’s situations in Russian as a Foreign Language. However, with the First Level Certificate, you can apply to a Russian university.
The Second Level Certificate (TORFL-II / B2)
