In India, Korean language studies are conducted by universities, educational institutes, web-based educational platforms, Korean Cultural Centre, and private institutes.  

1. Degree Program 

• Centre for Korean Studies (CKS)-Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. 

JNU offers a full-time Korean language course through the entrance exam. CKS offers MA, MPhil, and Ph.D. programs Korean language. • Faculty of humanities-Jamia Millia Islamia. 

 JMI offers a one-year certificate and diploma course as well as an undergraduate course in the Korean language on their Delhi campus. You can apply for a part-time course in the Korean language and study for another degree or you can enroll in the undergraduate full-time course. Apart from the certificate course and diploma course, the Korean language is also available for students pursuing professional management and engineering courses. • Department of East Asian Studies, Arts Faculty, Delhi University 

The Department of East Asian Studies offers a full-time degree course in the Korean language, I.e., Postgraduate intensive diploma (KF1) and post-graduate intensive advanced diploma (KF2) through entrance test. The eligibility criteria are a bachelor’s degree. Plus, for KF-2, at least 75% marks in KF-1 or Diploma in Korean from any University are mandatory.

2. Part-time courses in the universities 

• Delhi university 

Many colleges in Delhi university offer part-time courses in the Korean language. The part-time courses are certificate, diploma, and advance diploma. The duration of the courses is for 1 year (for each course) The colleges that offer Korean language part-time course are, 

• Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Mall Road, Delhi – Certificate. 

• Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Pitampura – Certificate. 

• Ramjas College, University Enclave, New Delhi – Certificate, and Diploma. 

• Shyam Lal College, Shahdara – Certificate, and Diploma. 

• Daulat Ram College, Maurice Nagar, Delhi – Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma. 

• IGNOU (SOFL)

This course is not recommended for the learner who wants deep learning for career prospects or further education. 

 

3. Korean Culture Centre, New Delhi 

The KCC supplies Korean language courses from beginner to advanced, the duration of the course is from 3 months to 6 months. This center is run by the Korean embassy and the name of the institute is King Sejong Institute. KCC divided the entire Korean courses into three extensive parts and further subdivided them into eight levels: beginners (B1 & B2), intermediate (I1 & I2), and advanced (A1, A2, A3, & A4). 

In Addition, to the language courses, the cultural center offers conversation clubs and other cultural activities.
