First, let us see how similar are Arabic and Hebrew?

Arabic and Hebrew languages show a clear common ancestry in the vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammatical structures, Arabic and Hebrew are not mutually intelligible. These two languages are separate from each other in their own direction.

Alphabets And How They’re Pronounced

The Hebrew and Arabic scripts evolved from the Aramaic alphabet, an alphabet which existed some several years ago. Hebrew and Arabic writing look different, Arabic is cursive whereas the Hebrew script is geometric.

Script

The reason for the difference is the Arabic script didn’t develop from Aramaic by first developing into the Nabataean script. Hebrews have 22 letters of the alphabet and Arabic has 28 letters.

Vowels

They are both written from right to left, unlike an alphabet that does not have static letters for vowels. In Arabic and Hebrew, vowel sounds are marked with or without vowels. The vowels in both Arabic and Hebrew exist in both long and short forms. In Hebrew, vowels are a, e i, o, and u, whereas Arabic uses a, i, and u.

Consonants

While Arabic has a few consonants, with the addition of some guttural sounds that don’t exist in Modern Hebrew, the Hebrew language has two more vowels than Arabic.
