Registration
Anyone interested in taking the JLPT exam should register at least two to three months in advance (check the official website for exact dates).
During the registration period, you can only register by email or online.
You can also go to your nearest centre with a passport-sized photograph, the registration fee, and a photo-identity card, such as a passport or driver’s licence. Finally, fill out the entire application form.

The test is scheduled in two shifts: in the morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and in the afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Typically, you will receive your JLPT scores and results within two months of taking the test. For example, for the July and December tests, they traditionally announce in the last week of August and January of the following year.
Each level’s examinees receive a Score Report. In addition, successful candidates receive a “Certificate of Proficiency.”
